If you ever wanted to know about the history of the Moors in the West Country then a visit to Okehampton will certainly help as it is home to the Museum of Dartmoor Life. Combine that with a visit to the Castle and a trip on the Dartmoor Railway and your day is already pretty well filled up with adventures and treats, but Okehampton has so much more, I found out, with great shops, restaurants and bars and the kids even enjoyed running and playing in the picturesque Simmons Park.
