From Victorian times, telegraph cables linked the beautiful valley of Porthcurno with remote parts of the world. By the start of World War II, it’s strategic importance led to the building of tunnels to protect the equipment. This fascinating museum, now housed within the wartime tunnels, tells the story of the birth of modern communications systems. Regular demonstrations explain how the instruments worked, and all members of the family can enjoy the hands-on activities.
