This beautiful fortress overlooks Portland Harbour and has a long and fascinating history. The building was constructed by Henry VII in order to defend the coastline against the Spanish and French navies, and was modified again in the 1540s to make it more secure. The interior has been changed a great deal throughout the years, and there are a fascinating series of Civil War and World War I artefacts to admire.
