Is this the longest crescent in Europe? It is claimed to be. Magnificently set on a south-facing slope, its sun-drenched ironwork balconies take full advantage of the views. In an unusual arrangement, its front doors open onto a pavement set high above the street. The Crescent was part of the late Georgian building mania that transformed the quiet village of Clifton into a fashionable spa. Now it is enlivened with pastel colour-washed façades.
