The museum is housed within the beautiful old school house. The building operated as a school between 1821 and 1981 and became the Rural Life Museum in 1983. There are three primary collections, each housed in a different room. The first room contains domestic artefacts, recreating a rural kitchen in the area from hundreds of years ago. The second is dedicated to farming ad the third to industry.
