A huge expanse of sand stretching for almost four miles, there is always space at Saunton Sands if you are prepared to walk a little. A favourite place for kiteboarders and windsurfers, this gently sloping beach offers great views of Lundy Island. Behind the beach is Braunton Burrows, a national nature reserve and the largest area of sand dunes in the United Kingdom. A great alternative to Croyde during the busy summer months, there is a car park, toilets, shop, cafe, and surf hire by the beach.
