Few English schools can claim a more impressive history than Sherborne. Edward VI founded it in 1550, but it replaced a monastic school and made use of monastic buildings. On the right of the picture is the former west claustral range that now forms the school library. Sherborne is an independent school and its premises are private, but some of its most historic buildings can be let for functions, including the Jacobean Old School Room.
