This interesting monument stands at the centre of Sidmouth, close to the parish church. It is specifically designed as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the two world wars by the people of this little seaside town. On the front line of coastal defences the town and its people played an important role in the defence of the nation during the 20th Century.
