The magnificent 14th Century barn shown here dominates the farm which once fed Glastonbury Abbey. Now the Abbey Farm recreates rural life in Victorian Somerset. The Victorian farmhouse with carefully reconstructed rooms shows how the farmer and his family lived. An exhibition tells the life story of one farm worker. The farmyard and the buildings around it make an ideal backdrop to display the tools and techniques of farming in Victorian Somerset. Though it does not aim to be a working farm, there are periodic demonstrations of rural crafts.
