St Andrew’s, designed by Richard Carver in 1829 replaced an earlier church. The Norman font, removed during reconstruction and used as a garden ornament, is now back in its rightful place and topped by an Edwardian cover. The church’s notable relic is the Wyndham Memorial, found in the South aisle and perhaps the finest glass is in the Lady Chapel, a memorial to a former vicar. The crypt in St Andrew’s was used during WWII to store art treasures from London and other valuable records from around the country.
