St Catherine’s Castle is located on the coast, close to Fowey Harbour in Cornwall. It is one of several small defensive forts that were commissioned along the southern coastline of England by Henry VIII in the 16th Century to protect against sea born attacks from France and Spain. A two-storey building, the fort has gun ports on the ground level. It is maintained in association with English Heritage.
