The walk to St Catherine's Point, where this artillery fort stands, is worth doing just for the views alone, which are spectacular. From here you can see right across the Fowey Estuary. The Fort is quite interesting too, reflecting centuries of military fort design, apparently. The footpath from Fowey is only about a mile, but it does climb quite steeply up to St Catherine’s Point. Alternatively, you can park at the National Trust car park at Coombe Farm and walk from there.
