Restored in the 1800s, the church of St George in the village of Bicknoller sits in a peaceful setting. The oldest parts of the building can be dated from the 12th Century and the large square tower dominates the otherwise small church. The tower had, at one time, a yew tree growing from it and in the churchyard there is still a huge yew which is said to be 1,000 years old. Near the tree are the old village stocks and above the porch is a statue of St George.
