Parts of St John’s Church are 13th Century, including the unusually squat tower and the North aisle arcade. Some of the floor tiles under the altar are medieval, and the font is also old but reset on a newer base during the Victorian restoration. The Sanctuary window depicts St George and is in memory of Queen Victoria and King Edward VII. St George appears again in the WWI Memorial; in memory of Charles Bosley, a parishioner who fell. His birthday was St George’s Day.
