The three stone circles and three-stone ‘cove’ of Stanton Drew are relatively little known outside of the immediate area, despite the fact they are the third largest prehistoric stone collection in the country. In recent times, studies of the area have concluded that the remaining stones were part of a much larger stone collection that would have dominated this area of the Somerset countryside. English Heritage manages the area and is responsible for the upkeep of the surroundings.
