This strange sea creature looks out over Plymouth’s harbour. The imaginative sculpture has become an icon of Plymouth, affectionately nicknamed the Barbican Prawn. Plymouth grew up around the fine natural harbour of Sutton Pool. It remains a working port. Beside is the historic Barbican district, with its narrow streets and Elizabethan houses. On the opposite side of the harbour is the National Marine Aquarium. Attracting many visitors, the harbourside has blossomed with specialist shops, restaurants, arts and crafts.
