The fine building that houses Torquay Museum was built in 1874 and is a piece of Victorian antiquity itself. Step inside however and you will discover even more tempting delights. The museum boasts a large and eclectic collection, ranging from archaeology and fine art to photographs and social history. Don’t miss the Devon Farmhouse gallery and cafe and the Time Ark gallery and gift shop, built in 2001 when the museum received £861,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The building has disabled access throughout.
