Dunster Water Mill, which lies alongside the River Avill, was built in 1680. There was a water mill here at the time of the Domesday Book, but the present one was almost totally rebuilt 1779-82. Visitors to this working mill can see how flour is produced for local bakeries, the grain being fed to the grinding stones and bagged. Also on show is historic agricultural machinery and there is a tea-room with a riverside garden serving home-made cakes.
