Whisky drinking on the small island of Islay is more than a rich tradition, it’s a way of life. With eight malt whisky distilleries on this parcel of land off the Kintyre Peninsula, which measures some 30km by 20km, it is a connoisseur’s paradise. All of Islay’s whiskys are strongly peaty in character though Bowmore is more accessible than many of the others for its rounded flavour.
