Situated on the rocks above Loch Dunvegan, Castle Dunvegan is an imposing sight. The home of the MacLeods for nearly 800 years, the castle remains the property of the clan to this day. It boasts the Dunvegan Cup and the famous Fairy Flag of Dunvegan among its many treasures. Numerous legends surround the origins of the flag for the curious visitor to discover. The castle further possesses beautiful landscaped gardens, which are a delight whatever the season, and a thriving a seal colony in its neighbouring Loch.
