Mull Rail, the first Scottish island passenger railway, leaves from Old Pier Station at Craignure and the journey is one of great beauty with panoramic views of Ben Nevis, the Glencoe hills, the island of Lismore, Ben Cruachen and Duart Castle. Interesting wildlife is frequently seen as the train wandres along the coast and woodland climbing gradients as steep as 1 in 52. Come in Spring when there is a carpet of primroses along the woodland section and the wild garlic is in flower.
