The west coast of Harris is renowned for its fine golden beaches. Scarista Beach is one of a string of world class sands which stretch for nearly 10km. The beach is a fantastic place to watch the summer sun set and it never gets crowded. Ever. Along the coast lies Luskentyre Beach and, off the coast, Taransay as featured in the BBC Castaway programme.
