Skerryvore Lighthouse Museum was restored in 1984, and was one of the earliest projects undertaken by the local historical trust whose aim is to bring the history of this isolated community to life. The museum records the remarkable story of the design and construction of this lighthouse by Alan Stevenson, uncle of Robert Louis Stevenson. Itx contains unique examples of living industrial archaeology to be viewed by the public.
