The Black Cullin are a spectacular range of rugged mountains in the South of the Isle of Skye. They are the closest any range of British mountains get to an alpine landscape. The range is around 11 km long, with 11 principle summits above 3,000 feet, and 43 subsidiary tops. Climbing in these mountains is not for the fainthearted or inexperienced - one of the summits is rightly named the ’Inaccessible Pinnacle’, requiring a roped climb to finish, and compasses are unreliable throughout the range.
