An attractive parish church containing a mixture of styles built on the site of one from the Saxon period and a medieval hospital or hermitage. The main point of interest is the chancel built in the 13th Century Early English style. Sherburn is a convenient stopping point for anyone visiting the nearby site of the Battle of Towton - the bloodiest battle of the Wars of the Roses.
