Situated close to the railway station and York town centre, The Bar Convent is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm and is the oldest living convent in the UK. The museum tells the story of Mary Ward, our foundress and the history of the Bar Convent School. Modern conference facilities are available for use. Overnight accommodation is also available for upto 22 people. We have a licensed café serving excellent hot meals Mon-Sat and a unique gift shop offering a wide choice of gifts. An ideal venue for a day’s outing.
