Once the home to the Spencer-Stanhope family this magnificent 17th Century country house is now a museum showing fine collections of furniture, paintings, glassware and pottery in period settings. For those interested in military history, ‘Charge’, the regimental museum of the 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary’s own) and the Light Dragoons, is housed here. With 70 acres of rolling parkland and landscaped gardens, including an impressive Georgian walled garden, this is an idyllic setting for a family day out.
