Cliffe Castle Museum, which occupies an attractive parkland setting on the outskirts of Keighley, was built in 1833 by local lawyer Christopher Netherwood, who originally called it Cliffe Hall. It was not until 1875, however, that a large scale building programme, launched by Henry Isaac Butterfield, transformed the property and surrounding parkland. Converted into a museum in 1960 it today possesses a surprising mix of artefacts which will surely intrigue and entertain all visitors. It also boasts a cafe, children's play area and aviaries of exotic birds.
