In the middle of Doncaster Markets stands the 1870s Corn Exchange now restored and refurbished after a serious fire in 1994. The surrounding indoor and outdoor stalls maintain a market tradition going back to mediaeval times. Claimed to be the largest in the north it attracts many out of town visitors - especially for the stalls of the fishmongers, butchers and grocers. All sections of the markets are open each Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. And Wednesdays have specialist antique / secondhand stalls as well as a Farmers Market on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
