Built during the reign of King Henry VIII, this impressive Napoleonic style fortress was constructed on the banks of the Humber estuary to defend the important naval site from attack. The fortress today houses a great collection of military history ranging from artefacts that have been discovered and preserved in the area to paintings and documents that chart its development.
