Located on the third floor of the Central Library, the Graves Art Gallery is home to a wide range of British and European art from the 16th Century to the present, including works by Picasso, Cezanne, Spencer, Pierre Bonnard, and Helen Chadwick. Also featured is the Grice Collection of Chinese Ivories. Founded in 1934, the gallery was refurbished to its original splendour in 2001. In addition to the exhibitions there are lectures, classes, and art videos, and the gallery cafe offers light snacks.
