As one of Huddersfield's premier recreational spaces, the magnificent Greenhead Park is still tremendously popular with both residents and visitors. Opened in 1884 the park possesses a surprising number of public facilities, including bowling greens, tennis courts, ornamental gardens, steam halued miniature railway and a huge war memorial dedicated to those who died in the wars of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. Situated within working distance of Huddersfield town centre it is estimated that around half a million people visit the park each year, which also boasts a full programme of organised events during the summer months.

My husband and I visited the park last October with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson who is 3. Our grandson loves to play football and go on the slide etc, in the children's area. It is a lovely park, with lots to do and see for all ages.
