Slightly off the beaten track in this old district but well worth a visit none the less, this museum is a hark back to when Sheffield ruled the industrial roost. There are many exhibitions here displaying Sheffield’s steel making heritage and also working machinery to give you an insight into the terrible conditions faced by workers at the time. The island itself dates back over 900 years whilst the museum opened in 1982. Features include an audio video show, gift shop, café and the Island’s own Brewery.
