Kirkleatham Museum displays local history on the Redcar & Cleveland area, covering domestic life and natural history. It also covers the ironstone mining which was so prevalent in the surrounding hills throughout the 1700s and 1800s. It was opened in 1981 in a magnificent Queen Anne manor house with extensive grounds. The museum also hosts a number of temporary exhibits throughout the year. It is open year-round, but closed on Mondays.
