Leeds City Art Gallery houses everything from traditional prints and watercolours through to more contemporary work. Having been honoured with many top awards, the art gallery receives favourable reviews from both the local and national media, and is popular with both local residents and visiting tourists. The gallery holds regular exhibitions of work from the early 19th to the late 20th centuries. Also here is the Craft Shop and Design Gallery which is a popular venue for buying contemporary work.
