Located in a beautiful setting in the Nether Edge area of Sheffield, the Merlin Theatre is a small, friendly venue. Founded in 1969, the theatre is funded with the help of local trusts and grants, and it hosts performances, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and other cultural events, many but not all aimed at the young and the young-in-heart. Located on the same site is Tintagel House, home to a community promoting the ideals of Austrian philosopher and educationalist Rudolf Steiner. The aim of the entire centre is to encourage the creative imagination.
