This site of Ecological or Geological Importance was formerly owned by the Myddelton family. Encompassing Coppy, Hudson and Stubham Woods, Middleton Woods cover an area of approximately 40 hectares. It is famous for its breathtaking display of bluebells in May and, hiding among the trees and Great Bittercress, are the resident Comma, Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock butterflies. Take the opportunity to visit the ancient stone bridge and ‘Jacobs Ladder’ steps whilst enjoying a leisurely woodland walk or nature trail.
