Founded in 1983 and expanded in 1999 the National Museum of Photography Film & Television is the most visited outside of London. It houses collections that are some of the most important visual material in the world - but it is much more that an archive. The IMAX cinema, animation workshops, media studies courses and events programme make this an active arts centre rather than a static museum.
