Roundhay Park comprises of 258 hectares of green land managed by Leeds City Council since 1878. The estate includes two large lakes, Tropical World (a themed zoo), Canal Gardens, the castle folly and a golf course. This is the most popular park in Leeds and regularly attracts almost one million visitors a year. During the summer the park plays host to a number of concerts and public events. The park has undergone an extensive renovation project to make it the area of natural beauty it is today.
