This church was constructed in 1904 and designed by a Leeds born, London based architect, John Henry Eastwood. The building has a neo-gothic style, and a crucifixion of Christ sculpture looms prominently over Great George Street. Inside, there is a great altar, with gilded paintings of Jesus and Mary in its background. The Cathedral offers a cool, calming place for reflection in one of the busiest areas of the City. It has been described as the best Cathedral outside Westminster.
