Saltaire United Reform Church, constructed in 1859, is one of the country's most important Victorian masterpieces and stands today as a unique example of Italianate religious architecture. Erected by Sir Titus Salt, for the spiritual welfare of his workforce, it is a Grade I listed building, said to be as important as Salisbury Cathedral or Hampton Court Palace. Designed by Lockwood & Mawson and occupying a prominent position with the World Heritage Site of Saltaire, the church is open to visitors most days of the week with regular services held on a sunday, to which all are welcome.
