Only the remains are left of this, what would have been one of the most impressive castles of the 13th Century. A motte and bailey castle of some note, the site has been restored to an extent and it is easy to see how the castle would have once looked. There is an attached heritage centre where the secrets of history are unlocked in a series of engaging exhibitions. The views from this area of the Calder Valley are unparalleled.
