It was between 1760 and 1767 that the eccentric parson Laurence Sterne wrote his famous tale Tristian Shandy. The early 15th Century house is a beautiful example of local building methods of that time, and is surrounded by a charming walled garden. The building contains the largest collection of Sterne’s novels anywhere in the world as well as several prints and paintings illustrating his work.
