The Sheffield Archives are housed in a public building at the very heart of this important city in South Yorkshire, and comprise the largest collection of public records relating to the region that exists anywhere. Several hundred years of births, deaths and marriages, as well as Census records and other noteworthy occasions are documented here. The archive is open to the public for interested browsing and serious research.
