Situated on the west side of the city, these Grade II Listed gardens are home to a vast collection of trees and shrubs and are an ideal escape from the busy and cosmopolitan areas nearby. Founded in 1836, Sheffield Botanical Gardens has seen millions of pounds of Heritage Lottery money spent on it to restore much of the original Victorian design. Worth seeing for the Glass Pavilions alone, the Gardens can be visited throughout the year. There is a restaurant and gift shop on site.
