Sheffield Cathedral is Sheffield’s oldest building and is a centre of worship for the Diocese of Sheffield, serving the whole of South Yorkshire. Dating from the 12th century it holds regular services for one and all. The Cathedral bells are a common sound in the city, ringing out at times of celebration, mourning and every Sunday through the year. Another feature worth checking out is Sheffield Cathedral Arts Festival, which showcases brass bands and accompanied silent movies, piano recitals and choral works.
