Nestling in the heart of the Sheffield City centre are the award winning Peace Gardens which are situated right beside the Town Hall. Originally called St Paul’s Gardens, they were formally renamed as the Peace Gardens in 1985 and were completely rebuilt in 1998 as part of ‘The Heart of the City’ regeneration project. In the centre of the decorative paved area The Goodwin Fountain projects water from its 89 individual jets creating a cooling water play area for children and office workers alike.
