Shibden Hall, often described as Halifax’s Historic Home, must surely rank as one of the region’s most popular tourist attractions and during the summer months the park surrounding this delightful property is often crowded with scores of visitors. The hall itself was constructed in 1420 by the Otes family, though it is more commonly associated with the Lister dynasty who resided here for almost 300 years. Situated close to the town centre Shibden, with its adjacent Folk Museum, also possesses a boating lake, pitch and putt golf course and a steam-hauled miniature railway which is bound to appeal to the children.
