In 1988 the architecturally important Square Chapel stood alone and abandoned, facing an uncertain future. Fortunately, a number of concerned indviduals were loath to let the building die and launched a major refurbishment programme which has transformed this massive Georgian masterpiece into a thriving theatre and arts venue, with an ever changing programme of music, dance and drama for visitors to enjoy. Situated within walking distance of Halifax railway station the Square Chapel was constructed in 1772.
