This statue, which stands near the southern gate of Weston Park, has no markings other than the name “Elliott”. This homage to Ebenezer Elliott, the Corn Law Rhymer, was moved to Weston Park in 1874, twenty years after its initial unveiling outside the central post office. It was created by Neville Burnard and funded by the citizens of Sheffield in honour of the poet who fought for the workers and peasantry of Sheffield by protesting against the unjust Corn Laws.
