Standing in over 1000 acres of historic parkland the magnificent Temple Newsam House has much to recommend it to visitors and the whole family will enjoy a day exploring the house and grounds. Often described as the Hampton Court of the North, the house has three floors of treasures, including furniture, paintings and silverware which make this one of the greatest such collections in the country. As the home of the Ingram family for over 300 years Temple Newsam is a haven of peace and tranquility with a regular programme of family events organised throughout the year. It also boasts one of the world's largest collections of rare breeds housed at the adjacent Home Farm.
